La Cava - new ownership

I just found out that La Cava has been sold and is under new ownership. The former owner is moving back to mexico. I walked by on Friday night and noticed it was closed, maybe they are re-doing the place. I know many people (myself included!) were put off by the former owner so this could be a very good thing. The food was fantastic though so I hope they keep the menu and the chef (though maybe bring down the prices a bit).

    1. Hopefully this will be a good thing! Their food was decent, but as you mentioned, the owner was quite obnoxious. Any idea when they plan to re-open?

No idea when the re-open is polanned but I will stay tuned...

          • Just saw it will be an Indian restaurant, I think the same is Saffron (got only a quick glimpse of the sign). A good Indian restaurant would be great here (emplasis on the word good!). Does not look like it opened yet.

              1. re: AmblerGirl

Excellent news indeed. It was a one-time reastaurant, after one visit no one went back because of the owner. Since the 2 Indian places in Lansdale are not that great at all I'll always welcome another good (yes, emphasis GOOD) Indian restaurant! And in lovely downtown Ambler no less, I know where I'll be eating before a show at the theatre!
