I'll be going to NOTL in the next 2-3 weeks. Usually I get there about noon and have lunch in a pub I believe called the Harp before looking for Christmas presents. Any suggestions this year for another place of similar fare and cost?

I live just across border in Grand Island, NY. Love NOTL. I often eat at the Harp, but there is a restaurant called Stone Road Grill, off the touristy area that is stellar. On Mary, a mile or less from town. Locals call it REST, ask when you get there.

It is worth wait if there is one. REST also has a little very reasonable Pizza sandwich shop connected to it, right around corner. I had the best Pizza I have ever had...but tried the Poutine which was very inexpensive for Poutine, and this was the first time I tried it,not wanting to pay $10 US for "fries and gravy, which is the price in Toronto (but unthinkable for an American) All I can say is wow!!!!! 'DOUBLE WOW" I may never eat in the restaurant again, just the little joint...However, there is no seating inside, and it is getting cold for their outdoor tables.

I now will pay the $10...Great stuff!

I second the motion on the Stone Road Grille. As a NOTL resident and frequent visitor to "The Rest", I've never been disappointed and just about always delighted with the food, the staff and the atmosphere. It's a special place in that it has those 3 primary elements (food, staff, ambience) down really, really well - and not over-priced. Don't let the odd location, in a strip mall, deter you.
