Philadelphia Winter Harvest Members?

I figure there must be a few of you out there. I love Winter Harvest, but there are so many products I wonder about. I thought it might be fun to start a thread about what things you've tried that you love, or that you wouldn't order again. I'm particularly curious about the various preserved/pickled items, various sausages, and prepared foods.

I usually just stick to pretty simple things--love the hammon sweet potatoes, the yogurt, gold rush apples, and some basic cuts of meat. My son is addicted to Margerum's sour cherry jelly.

So, what's your experience? I'm looking forward to more ideas about what to order.

    1. I do a CSA through Farm to City during the "high season" so to speak, I was thinking of jumping on board with Winter Harvest after Thanksgiving when we will be around to pick up our box.

One thing keeping me from signing up is I have acess to all the producers goods (or very similar products) at the Reading Terminal.

Yeah, I was going to do a winter CSA but now with the Fair Food Farmstand at RTM, its like having a great farmer's market available 7 (or is it 6?) days a week!

I could see that. A lot of the suppliers also sell through Fair Food. If it was easier for me to get to the RTM, I'd probably do that too.

That said, it is terrifically convenient to pick up a packed bag of groceries of my choosing right in my neighborhood. Overall, I think Winter Harvest is well run and offers a good variety of products. I didn't have a great experience with the CSA because of lack of control over the items, but Winter Harvest lets you choose. This week we are really enjoying the pink lady apples and radishes we got in last week's order. I also like getting the occasional loaf of Metropolitan bread without having to go into town.
