    1. From what I understand, he wants male wannabe cooks. Male culinary boot camp as it were. Grasping at ...straws, is he?

I think this is for a new show...Why would anyone want to undergo the abuse which is sure to be showered on all the contestants (as in any other Ramsy show) is beyond me....but if chosen you can get your 15 minutes.

It would depend on how the show was going to use/showcase Gordon Ramsay. If it was the Gordon Ramsay from the U.S. version of "Hell's Kitchen", no thank you. But if it was the Gordon Ramsay from "The F Word", or "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" (U.K. version), or other U.K. appearances, I might give it a go (if I was interested in being on TV for some reason).

It looks like a similar format to a UK show he did. The idea is that the viewers go out and buy ingredients (published before the show), then cook the dish at the same time he demonstrates it on TV. The volunteer cooks in the studio cook along at the same time, and GR uses them to help point out mistakes and for some "fun".
I think in the UK it was a show that was on longer than an hour, but even so this isn't complex food.

                    1. re: PhilD

I think Phil's right. Certainly looks a similar format. IIRC, he did a couple of these "events" - perhaps 60 maybe 90 minutes. Three courses - easy peasy cooking. It wasnt a programme that I particularly enjoyed not least because the TV is in the lounge not the kitchen so it was impossible to cook along with Gordie. And, of course, I can't abide Ramsey's persona.

                2. This isn't the only thing he's doing - I guess he's going to be heading up the U.S. version of the U.K.'s long running show "Master Chef". "...features Ramsay overseeing a group of wannabe chefs with no food industry experience who are trying to take their kitchen hobby to a professional level."
