I was at the Commissary at Fort Lee with my sister-in-law, cruising the aisles; lots of interesting ethnic ingredients. In the Asian section, there were large plastic jars of "honey powder," but no mention on the container of how it is used. Surely my good buddies at Chowhound can enlighten me! I'm a pretty experienced cook (and cookbook reader), but I have never seen this ingredient referenced before. Thanks in advance for the education!

Honey powder, like liquid honey, can be used as a sweetener or a flavoring. In powder form, the consistency is much easier to maintain, making it perfect for dry rubs and cake, cookie or bread mixes. Great sprinkled over hot and cold cereals, ice cream and on seeds and nuts before roasting. Additionally honey powder, is great for both hot and cold drinks like coffee and tea, lemonade and fruit drinks. I have even seen honey powder used in place of talcum powder.
