Just a guess, but I'm betting they are gone for good. The building permit posted on the exterior is for a complete renovation. Given that the neighborhood is now dominated by observant Jews, the natural customer base has been shrinking dramatically in the past few years. I've been told (don't know how reliably) that they have been trying so sell for the last three years. I don't think it's been as good since the last renovation several years ago when they tried to take the place "upscale". When I was last there in September, the place just seemed tired and business was slow. The most outgoing brother, Mario, has been in another business and he just isn't around much and the place has suffered.
Regrettably, Flushing has become totally Balkanized. Kosher in Kew Gargen Hills, Korean in the northeast, and Chinese and Taiwanese everywhere else. You can't fight changing demographics but now left with only memories of the Old Roma, Laurel Deli and Lorabie bakery.

Sadly, it is closed and has been replaced by a kosher pizza place. I lived in the neighborhood in the 60's and even then they were famous for the best pizza in the area. I still was going quite regularly and can't believe they're gone after 50 years. But they were an anomaly in the neighborhood for a long time so maybe this was inevitable.

Hi,
Angelo's was my husband's favorite restaurant and i wanted to throw him a 60th birthday party there. Do you have another suggestions for a place with similar pizza?

In the last few years the food was bad. It's now a kosher place.
Alba's on Queens Boulevard has a really nice room in the back and the food is great.
