Hi everyone!
I will be coming into NYC Thurs (11/12) and will be staying at the Marriot Marquis. Can someone please point me towards some yummy and cheap dinner options. By cheap, I mean entrees ranging from $15-$20. I am up for anything, but since I wont have a car and chances are it'll be freezing, I would like the places to be of walking distance. Please help me out, I dont want my NYC trip to be a food waste...=)

Hey there,
Lots of options nearby but many more (and I believe better) if you can take a 10 minute subway ride. Also, you may get more responses if you can be a bit more specific about cuisine/atmosphere. NYC has too many options sometimes!

True about increasing options with a subway ride, but there's actually quite a lot within easy walking distance of the Marriot Marquis. There are places on 9th and 10th Avs., Szechuan Gourmet on 39th, and then there's Koreatown.

By the way, mymom, don't assume it'll be freezing. Unless you're coming from someplace like Miami, you shouldn't have too much trouble walking around in November weather.

El Deportivo is a couple of blocks away - 701 9th Ave (at 48th St.) Good Latin American food in a no frills atmosphere and really inexpensive. The pork dishes are standouts.

I also strongly second Szechuan Gourmet.
