We have a quick overnight stay at Stoke Park Club before departing to Paris. Arrive to hotel likely around 9pm. Has anyone been to the restaurant(s) in the Resort or is there a worthwhile Pub nearby? We will have traveled all day and will be tired but very hungry. Thanks very much

It might help a bit if you tell us from which direction you'll be travelling. There are some good pubs in the area, but at 9 p.m., you probably won't feel like driving to far but you might hit something as you go towards the hotel. There is a good pub in Marlow and also one near Maidenhead at Bray.

From the looks of the hotel (and being a frequent long-flight flier), I'd say you might be best off just relaxing and eating at the hotel. It looks lovely and I'm sure the food will be fine... and no doubt better than most pubs in Slough.

Likely sage advice since the evening preceeds 8 decadent nights in Paris( have noted your Paris comments, thanks) Would be interested to learn if anyone has eaten at any of the restaurants in that Hotel and which they recommend ...

Ah, I thought your name sounded familiar... from the other page! I'm not sure if anyone will have eaten at the hotel. I don't think it's very common for British people to go to hotels like that for a meal. The only time I've done it is when my husband's company has a special event or in the past when I was a tourist from the States. After those meals in Paris, you may be happy for a quiet night and good meal close to your room. Both Paris and London are such great 'eating' cities... I feel lucky to be close to both, although I still miss NY. Have a great trip.
