Coming-- Blue Mesa?

I was driving down 5th the other day and thought I saw a sign announcing the opening of Blue Mesa. Anyone know anything about it? I've been to one a few times year ago in Dallas but it has been some time.

Anything else coming to town?

I go once or twice a year in Dallas as my parents live nearby. It's nothing special, but consistently better than other modern Mexican chains (thinking specifically of Cantina Laredo). With it just down the street from me here, I'll probably drop in occasionally for the painted desert soup.

I was just at the one in Dallas Thursday night. It was better than average chain food. It seems to lean towards what I would call "New Mexico" mexican. Adobe Pie etc. I did have a wicked good blue margarita (they call it something else I think) I think it's different than Cantina Laredo's Food so for me it wouldn't be a comparison to them.

That's a good point. I questioned myself on that one after I posted.

According to Blue Mesa rep, this will be a new concept called Tacos and Tequila

It did. As mentioned above it is called Tacos and Tequila (TnT) and has big crowds when I drive by. The early reviews in the Chron and Statesman have been mixed. Hardly any mention on CH that I can recall. I have not been.
