Had lunch at a place I saw on Yelp, a place that I had passed by before, but had never tried, as the weird little food court it's in is very sketchy looking. The joint is called Falafel King, and the sandwich was the King's special with lamb and hot sauce. This sandwich was all kinds of good. It's a pita wrap with falafel (they give you a free piece with hoummus (spelling?) as well while you wait in line!), hoummus, tahini (I think it's tahini, it's a light brown sauce), a cucumber tomato salad mix, some stewed lamb meat, and the aformentioned hot sauce (by request). This sandwich was soooooo good, and a decent size, which is only fair, because it costs about $8 after tax. The line was kind of long, but it moves very briskly, and the counter help could not have been nicer or more friendly. If your looking for a good sandwich, at a fair to medium price, you really should give this spot a try!

Yeah, the complimentary falafel with a flourish and a smile is always a nice touch. How many fast food counters can say they give an amuse bouche?

Pretty popular spot on this board. Coincidentally, I just had my first falafel sandwich there in a long time this week. It's one of my favorite falafels in town, especially since the demise of the Reef Cafe, though I hear Fordee's in Watertown is pretty rocking, too.

Any word on a Reef revival? The family gave tantalizing hints before they closed, about a possible restaurant in Cambridge. I'm still in grief over the loss of their stuffed cabbage, their toum, and Sam's effervescent smile. Another counter service place where we almost always received an amuse bouche......
