My wife and I will be coming to Chicago next Wednesday for four nights. We are staying at the Silversmith Hotel in the Loop. What are good places to eat nearby, or a short cab ride away?

Everything in River North and the Magnificent Mile area would easily fall in your distance parameters. Short answer is that there are a huge number of options in a wide range of prices and cuisines although good inexpensive ethnic food is mostly elsewhere in the city.
