armani ristorante....

Have any Chowhounds had any positive experiences? A friend is suggesting Armani Ristorante. I'm hesitant to dine at a place owned by a fashion designer. My instinct is to head south towards Babbo or I Trulli (where I've had good meals), Lupa, or somewhere new.

I'm perfectly happy with a riceball from Papa Perrone's truck, so I have a feeling I will feel
out of place at Armani Ristorante.

I'm guessing Mia Dona is a better bet, for Italian in midtown?
