Natraliart Jamaican Restaurant - excellent patties

Had a craving for beef patties and belatedly went to Natraliart Jamaican restaurant & market on Washington (between Crenshaw & Arlington) for lunch today and was not disappointed.

Ordered the jerk chicken lunch and a beef patty. The patty and a salad were served first and the patty was awesome - hot straight out of the oven. The filling had some spice to it and was looser than most places. The crust was crispy but not dry. All around delicious.

The jerk chicken was good but not as crazy good as the patty. It was served with rice with some beans mixed in and some veggie side and plantains. Plantains were good as was the rice (not too many beans - a good thing by me) and two dipping sauces, one hotter and one mild. Yum.

I enjoyed the patties so much I bought a few to go, to have for lunch tomorrow.

I had heard Natraliart was part of a market so I did not know what to expect. They have an adjacent space - you order at the counter and have 8 or so tables and will bring your food to you. It is a separate room than the market, so you do not feel like you are in between the canned goods and the spices aisles...

Friendly service and the food came out reasonably quickly. There are small and large portions. I got the small. If I had gotten the large the leftovers would have been enough for another meal!

recommended.
