The major grocery stores generally don't have much and it is usually overpriced. Sam's has a small selection, but no stew meat. I'm sure some of the halal markets are probably a good bet, but I'm not familiar with any of them. What is your favorite place to buy lamb in Houston?

Perhaps Phoenecia Market on Westheimer?

I always enjoyed the small cafeteria at Jerusalem Halal on Hillcroft, but that was for prepared food. I do know they have a good meat selection. Perhaps give it a try and let us know?

Both Phoenicia and Jerusalem Halal have lamb. Every Halal market I've been into has it.

Select your part of town then Markets.

You also might try B&W on N. Shepherd outside the Loop and Pete's Fine Meats on Richmond in the Galleria area. Either one of those would be good if they have it.

Pete's Fine Meats does have it. If you want something besides the popular cuts - lamb chops, leg of lamb, lamb shank, etc. - just call them a day ahead and ask them to cut you up some stew meat. They're happy to do it.
