Cuban Food for Party

I am going to an event where each person is to bring a dish for eight. I want to take something from a new Cuban Restaurant reopening in Atlanta. The plan was Congri and I may stick with the plan. But the latest is that my name falls in the group now designated for desserts. So I am considering Maduros, possibly Rice Pudding.

There may not be any hot plate or microwave available for reheating. I plan to get the food about 60-90 minutes before serving. Would each of these choices do OK as take out - would the Maduros likely get soggy or lose their appeal? I have not eaten these dishes for some time and only as eat-in - never take-out.

    1. Maduros are not a dessert, they are a side dish. However, I've never thought they traveled all that well. They're much tastier when fresh. Rice pudding, on the other hand, doesn't need to be hot and it's texture won't deteriorate in 1 1/2 hours. Of the two, I believe it will be a more successful choice.
