I'm in Burbank tomorrow night and my girlfriend is requesting Greek food. Preferably it would be somewhere with a relatively nice atmosphere, table service, and great hummus certainly doesn't hurt!

There's only one Greek place in Burbank, behind the movie theatre off San Fernando Road, and it's just not all that. Would other Middle Eastern suit?

Arde's Bistro in Toluca Lake; Skaf's in Glendale or NoHo; Carousel or Elena's in Glendale.

I hear good things about Hayat's in NoHo but I haven't been so can't say for sure.

Hayat's in North Hollywood is fantastic, there is a thread somewhere on the board all about it. Depending what you are looking for for food, its Lebanese, not greek. The hummus is great. The atmosphere though is more casual, wooden tables and plastic chairs, there is a patio you can eat on though, and its nice today.

Arde's Bistro at 4315 W Riverside Dr gets great reviews, but I haven't tried it myself yet. It is close to where I work, but apparently is very crowded at lunch, so I haven't made the time to get there.

It's nothing to rave about, but offers pretty good kabobs, gyros and a Greek salad.

George's is actually my favorite. His gyro sandwich is my favorite lunch. It's simple, just a pita with gyro meat, greens, a slice of tomato and the cucumber yogurt. But it works for me.

It's a little pricey there and no real ambiance, so I don't know how they fare as a dinner destination. But for a great, satisfying quick lunch, it's the best.

You'd have to drive a bit, but not too far. The Great Greek in Sherman Oaks (on Ventura) has good Greek food and a fun atmosphere.
