My fiance is attending a conference over the next two days in the Washington Marriot and Embassy Suite hotels near Dupont Circle. She's going to have roughly an hour for lunch, and needs someplace within walking distance.

She's an adventurous eater and not overly picky as to cuisine. Any good Chowhound-worthy places for her to try? I will text her any good recs that you can make.

Second the Greek Deli. Also Vapiano (pizza, pasta), Bread and Brew (sandwiches, quiche, pizza), Moby Dick (Persian kabobs), a bit further on Conneticut are Chopt (salad) and Nando's Peri Peri (rotiserrie chicken). If she has time and wants a treat, Tangysweet for frozen yogurt or Hello Cupcake.

I would check out CF Folks (a great neighborhood find with daily specials that run the gamut of Indian to Creole to Mediterranean). You find the specials at www.cffolksrestaurant.com.

I also like Bread and Brew for GREAT sandwiches and soups made with organic ingredients.

If she is in to French bistro she can check out Bistro du Coin. Or for Indian head over to Heritage India. And if she likes pizza (and wants to sneak in a beer or 2) she should head over to Pizzeria Paradisio on P St.

There's nothing at Greek Deli you can't get in Greektown, plus there is no seating there.

cf folks is a uniquely Washington lunch counter. SIt at the counter, not at one of the tables, and order from the chalkboard.

Singapore Bistro has some very nice noodle dishes that she may not be able to get in Baltimore, if she would like to explore that cuisine.

What do you recommend at Singapore Bistro? The order of bun I had there soon after their opening was dismal. Pathetically microwaved spring rolls and half-cold meat, and a tiny serving. My boyfriend's pho was also a really small serving though ok flavor.

Soon after their opening? The place has been there seemingly forever, so that was quite a long time ago. I had the Bihun Jakarta. It's a simple dish, and it was very agreeable. It's a meatless dish (mostly noodles and bean sprouts), so maybe we are talking about something different.....

Oh, I was thinking of Saigon Bistro, my mistake. It's also in that neighborhood, and opened earlier this year. I've never heard of Singapore Bistro. Good tip.
