In my mind the best tapas restaurant in town is just a couple blocks away from the HIlton at the Blackstone Hotel: Mercat a La Planxa. Depending on how you order, it may not be much less expensive, but the food is excellent and the wine and drinks very enjoyable. For a less expensive and more casual tapas experience, there is Cafe Iberico. It's probably not walking distance, but not a bad cab ride.
