Please let me introduce myself...

I'm new here and like to introduce myself. Currently outta work educator in NJ. Love to cook/eat but hate cleaning up. One of my kitchen weaknesses is cast iron cookware.

When I find I new food board, like to ask this question... what was your biggest kitchen disaster... or disasters?

My Dad was a serious beef guy. He like watching the few cooking shows on tv back in the day... Julia, Graham, Jeff was about it. Once he decided Sunday dinner would be Beef Wellington. I was maybe 18 or so and comfortable in kitchen thanks to my Grandmother. Recipe seemed pretty straight forward... beef tenderloin cooked in a pastry crust... so I got started. When that big $ hunka beef went into the oven, looked like something right out of a gourmet cookbook. And when it came out, looked even nicer. Only one problem... the crust was like cement?!? Picture 15 yo brother literally ROFLAO, Grandfather saying it's "fine" and Dad HACKING at the crust!! BUT on up-side... beef was PERFECTLY medium rare and very tasty!

Then there was the home-made won ton soup. Broth was great... won tons needed teeth of STEEL to chew!
