Dinner suggestions around Allandale, NJ????
Some friends and I are attending a bridge tournament this Saturday in Allandale, N.J. We are from NYC and don't know the area at all or even the towns near Allandale to be able to do a search on this board for restaurant suggestions.
We're looking for a good restaurant - not super high end, fancy or anything - for dinner after the game. Italian, French, Spanish, Greek, American or other ethinic foods are fine. We just want to avoid any chains or diners and no Chinese food. Some place on the quieter side where we can talk and relax would be good as well.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

The local favorite for casual is The Allendale Bar & Grill....or better known simply as the ABG. For Spanish, there's Sabor Latin Bistro of El Cid's in Paramus.

Check out this site for many other choices in the area.
Assuming you are going to travel back south via the GWB, some of the towns you may want to concentrate on are, in no particular order:
Ridgewood
Paramus
Washington Township (Bacari Grill)
Fair Lawn
Rochelle Park (Bistro 55) .
Hackensack
River Edge
Teaneck
Englewood (It's Greek To Me or Bennie's) .
Fort Lee/Palisades Park (Korean) -

We have a few favorites in the area. In Ramsey, one town up, on Rt 17 N, Greek City, excellent greek , nice atmosphere in strip mall with Kohls, etc. Pizette for Italian in strip mall off Main St. in Ramsey, Janices Bistro, our favorite, in HoHoKus, Savinni in Allendale for Italian is also very good. Hope this helps.
