Ethiopian in Hell's Kitchen
Considering going out for Ethiopian apres theater later this month. How would you rate Queen of Sheba vs. Meskerem on food quality and overall value? Ambience not an important consideration. Perhaps there is another Ethiopian place in the same vicinity that we should consider?

There is a new place called Red Sea that has recently opened where Le Kabbr used to be on 9th; have not had the chance to try it yet. Has anyone been? Would love to hear how it is.

I haven't been yet, but for whatever it's worth, a friend of my girlfriend's, who's spent time traveling around Ethiopia, rates it higher than Queen of Sheba and Meskerem (and rates those three in that order). I have only been to Meskerem, so far, and loved it.

I recently tried Red Sea. The combi platter was OK, the injera really cold, I will give it another try in a few months. Of the three ethiopian in the neighborhood - Queen of Sheba is much better than the other two. Meskerem used to be good, and then in the pst couple of years went down in service and quality. The meats tough; the ingera inconsistent.
