I enjoyed a lovely view of CP on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental lounge and enjoyed a delicious tea with traditional sandwiches, scones with devon cream & homemade marmalade, and a variety of sweets. A big pot of tea and a comfy chair and I was in heaven. I plan to take my sis-in-law there the next time she's in town.

Ah.. I was going to ask about the Mandarin Oriental lounge. I am glad you have posted. Do you remember how much it is per person? Also, is there a need for reservation? Thanks!

I'd also love to know the price, including tip, if you wouldn't mind. It sounds scrumptious.

Stayed at The Plaza this weekend and can confirm that they offer it and it looked great.

Lady Mendl's is delightful. You won't be able to eat dinner afterwards because there is so much great food. And the servers are very knowledgable. Lowell Hotel used to be good. The Pierre, which used to have a great tea, is now a terrible tea to be avoided. And a rip-off. I was very disappointed.

Lady Mendl's Tea Salon at the Inn at Irving Place does a nice job with their five course afternoon tea. It has a bit of an early 19th century atmosphere & makes you feel as though you've gone back in time.

Another wonderful option is Lady Mendl's Tea Room at the Inn at Irving Place - you have to reserve, and it's elegant and lovely! Very feminine - I wouldn't necessarily suggest for a mixed group! But for ladies? Wonderful and special. http://www.innatirving.com/default.as...

Check with the Plaza to see if they still do this...it is great. Also, the four seasons hotel and maybe the Peninsula. All in your area.

I've done this at the St. Regis, and it was lovely. the quality of the food and the tea was very good.

There doesn't seem to be anything going on in the Plaza's Palm Court at the moment, they're waiting for a new chef.
