Sorry for the double-post - realized I hadn't put the city in the title.

------------------------------------

I haven't lived in SoFla for 20 years, but we do a family reunion every year on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale for Thanksgiving. The hotel we stay in has kitchen facilities, but not enough to cook a real turkey dinner for 25 people, so we always cater.

The last few years we've used TooJay's. It's not bad, but it's not great, but the big advantage is that they're open on Thanksgiving Day, which many other places we've called aren't.

We can pick up pretty much anywhere, but need to be able to pick up on Thursday.

Does anyone have any better ideas? TooJay's is $7/lb, carved and decorated, including the potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce. I don't mind spending more, especially for a higher quality product.

Thanks!

Look into Doris Italian Market - www.dorismarket.com. They do catering and may have a special going for Thanksgiving. Also, Publix can provide the turkey and all the fixings prepared for Thanksgiving as well.

Doris and Publix are both closed on Thanksgiving!! You have to pick up on Wednesday, which is impossible for us.

Thanks for the ideas, though.

Are you sure about Doris' being closed on Thanksgiving? For as far back as I can remember, I've ordered a fresh turkey from Doris' every holiday and one of the main reasons why I get it from them is that they are open on Thanksgiving day until 1:00 which allows me to have the extra space in my refrigerator.
