Kosher in Winston-Salem
May be going there next week. Is there anything kosher? I see stuff on shamash in other towns but not Winston-Salem.

NC in general is very short on kosher options. Are you looking for restaurants, groceries, or home hospitality? There are 2 kosher restaurants in state, one in Charlotte and one in Wilmington. Neither one is anywhere near the Triad. Most major grocery stores have an okay selection of kosher products.
Your best bets will be contacting either the American Hebrew Academy, the Greensboro Federation, or the congregation of your choice to discuss your specific needs vs. the options available.

Thanks for the replies. To answer Rocky's questions, I would prefer restaurants or groceries. I prefer not to impose on home hospitality as this is a business trip and b"h, if necessary, I can just order stuff fedexed to the hotel or live off whatever the local grocery has for a couple of days. Fresh food is always preferred though.
Deis I did check out their website even before you suggested it and it does not look like they have kosher meals which, given the demographics in that area, is not surprising.

Oooh! I can reply as a former resident of W-S (but I became kosher after I left).
When I visit the parents, I go to Whole Foods in W-S. They have fresh kosher organic breads superviesd by the Atlanta Kashruth Commision (AKC) that I think are Pas Yisroel. They do not carry deli, but do usually have fresh/frozen kosher organic chicken (Wise) and they usually have Tillamook Cheddar cheese (not CY) and sometimes HaOlam cheddar cheese (CY) too. http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/winston-salem/
If you want an Orthodox level of supervision for a restaurant, there is no place in W-S which carries that level of supervision. But, there is a new Chabad in Greensboro (about 25-35 minutes away) that might be able to help http://www.chabad.org/centers/default...
If you need further assistance, post back here and I will do my best to help.

Yael,
Thanks for the first person reply. I will probably just have stuff shipped to the hotel and supplement by getting stuff from local groceries. Its only a couple of days (Wed and Thurs.).
