Need a rec for birthday dinner on a sunday

  • 4

Anyone have any recs for a romantic but not overly formal restaurant for my bf's birthday dinner? I'm thinking more steakhouse as my bf is a more steak & potatoes kind of guy. I was planning on going to Bymark/Splendido/one of Oliver & Bonacini's places but all of them are closed on Sundays. TIA!

  1. Well, Bymark, Splendido, etc are formal restos. But anyways, the only resto I can think of that's open on Sunday in that calibre is Colborne Lane.

    1. Harbour 60 is open if you want to do the steakhouse thing.

Globe Bistro is also open, but it may be too "weird" for your boyfriend (although you can get a very good steak).

One Restaurant is open (but they typically don't get great reviews around here).

LeSelect is my Sunday go to (avec steak frites!), but it sounds more casual than what you're looking for.

I third the Le Select some of the other places mentioned are much more high-end such as Colborne Lane and Harbour 60.

Le Select had a tasty steak frites, a good wine list and good service staff. Overall good value for money place in a nice space.

      2. I second the rec for Le Select. Tom Jones steakhouse is open Sundays and is a Toronto classic. They don't have live entertainment that night but would still be good.
