Chowhound has been good so far for me - so here I am, trying it again. A bunch of us are headed to Vegas for Thanksgiving - and we are looking for some recommendations about where to eat without burning a hole in our pockets ! A couple points:

1) Everyone is a vegetarian - ( not vegan)
2) Local cuisines, flavors are welcome
3) Buffets are welcome too - have read enough about vegas to know that it is known for its buffets

I look forward to receiving your sugestions !

Thanks.

Here's trying this again !
Additional info: We have 3 days in Vegas, Thu, Fri and Sat. Thursday - the hope is to get some good dinner - before we hit the clubs while Friday and Saturday can be anything - based on your recommendations.

Many of the higher-end restaurants on the Strip will have a few vegetarian choices to work from, but if you want to look for options that particularly focus in that direction here are a few - Fleur de Lys (Mandalay Bay) has a vegetarian tasting menu; Origin India (on Paradise, across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel) has a lot of vegetarian options, and also a full vegetarian tasting menu; Enoteca San Marco (Venetian) has both some creative hearty salads, and bold vegetable dishes (their "Verdure Grande" would be comparable to a vegetarian tasting menu). Off the strip in Commercial Center, Komol is a Thai restaurant that probably has the most extensive vegetarian menu in the city. The atmosphere is nothing special, but the food is good. About a 60 second walk from Komol is Namaste, an Indian restaurant that also has ample vegetarian options, as does Lotus of Siam right next door. The latter three options are all particularly friendly on the pockets by Las Vegas standards.

I was going to recommend Komol as well. I ate there once with a vegetarian group and was very pleasantly surprised...some very interesting dishes! I know one of the servers there fairly well (he is a son of the owners and also a good friend of one of my coworkers) and he tells me that they will gladly honor special "off the menu" requests. Service is great!

The Burger Bar at Mandaly Bay offers a vegetarian burger with
lots of vegetarian toppings to pick from. If anyone in your group eats fish, they also offer a salmon burger.
