need advice.. dinner for 5 @7 on Friday in Waltham. We love to eat, tried to get a reservation at la campagnia, but they have no availability. Any suggestions as where to eat near Waltham/Brandeis Univ? Nothing too casual.

There's Stellina's in Watertown Sq. Easy parking in back, probably 10 minutes away. Reliable and comfortable.

Not at the same level as La or Il, but Tempo on Moody St. and Elephant Walk on Maine St. are also good.

Love Il Capriccio! Great food and gracious service. The porcini mushroom souffle is heaven. Lemon Mousse with candied lemon peel is great. Never had a bad meal there.
