This won't come as a surprise to anyone, but in 24 hours in Lafayette I determined the following:
--Prejean's food is just OK to good, except for the seafood gumbo, which was excellent.
--The shrimp poboy at the Olde Tyme Grocery is indeed the best shrimp poboy EVER., and should not be missed. The Abita root beer I had with it was great too. The staff was cheerful, all dressed for Halloween, and coaxing customers to bob for apples (no, I didn't).

We bought boudin (and a turducken) at Hebert's and more boudin at Don's Specialty Meats, but didn't have time to stop at the Best Stop too, as I had planned. The boudin from Hebert's was delicious, so if that from Don's is supposed to be even better, I look forward to sampling it.
Thanks, hounds!
