I have family visiting town the week of Christmas, and I would like suggestions for Brooklyn restaurants that will be open for business those days. I've never spent the Christmas holiday in the city prior to this year, so I'm pretty clueless about what places are open.

Here are a couple of points to help guide your suggestions:

- We're adventurous diners who enjoy the best of Brooklyn's new restaurant scene. Some favorites include: DuMont, Diner, Frankie's Spuntino, Motorino, etc.

- They will be staying in lower Manhattan, but I live in Williamsburg, so any places in North Brooklyn, Fort Greene, Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, etc. will work.

I'd also love some Manhattan suggestions, but I thought I'd start with Brooklyn since that is where we tend to dine the most.

Thanks everyone!

Saul on Smith St does Feast of the 7 Fishes for Christmas Eve, which we really enjoyed a couple of years back. It's a pretty formal meal (small, intricate courses) as opposed to a rustic 7 Fishes meal, as you'd expect from Saul. Saul is excellent with fish, so its a great menu.
