South Orange County Pot Luck lunch

selfportrait93 Nov 3, 2009 05:51 AM

I have a pot luck lunch to go to this Sunday in Aliso Viejo. I will be coming from Carlsbad, CA (Legoland) after a short weekend getaway with my family. Not being familiar with this area, can anybody suggest restaurants along the way that I can order food to go (chicken, meats, noodles, but not dessert) for a party of 12.
Any kind is fine, but I personally prefer Asian.

    (1) I have not tried this place myself, but I've heard good things about
    Jade Palace II (Chinese Cuisine)
26921 Aliso Creek Rd, Aliso Viejo
    (949) 360-7666

    (2) Far from Asian, but excellent meat deli and restaurant in Carlsbad, not far from the I-5.
    Tip Top Meats
Have a look at their menu. Really good quality, but I don't know your range of personal tastes. Its categorized as a German Deli.

    OPEN DAILY: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    6118 Paseo Del Norte
    Carlsbad, Ca. 92009

It's is kind of a wasteland of excellent restaurants from Carlsbad to and in Aliso Viejo. A handful of really good places in San Juan Capistrano, but mostly dinnerhouses. Nothing Asian.
    (3) Maybe you'd find something you'd like on the menu at Cedar Creek Inn. Their food is very good. See lunch menu at http://www.cedarcreekinn.com/sanjuan.html

    (4) Really good Asian in Laguna Niguel at China Moon. http://www.chinamoonrestaurant.com/
(not enroute, but not far from Aliso Viejo
)30001 Town Center Dr, Suite 4, Laguna Niguel
    (949) 249-6868

    Have a good time Sunday.

Thanks for the great suggestions, KC. I will most likely order from either chinamoon or jade palace II for pickup on Sunday. I appreciate it.
