There was a write up of Eat Chow (at 1802 Newport Blvd in Costa Mesa) in the September Westways (AAA's magazine). Has anyone been, and how was the food?

  1. I ordered the Reuben sandwich that was pictured in the article and I have to say that even though it was made with sourdough and not rye bread, it was one of the best Reubens I've had.

Darn, wonder if they have anything worth ordering...?

    2. Went today for the first time. I had a tasty Media Noche Cuban sandwich, friends had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and the ruben. All of the sandwiches looked really good. I love a good sandwich, and this place has them. Portions are not huge, but after the sandwich, which comes with some salad and splitting some fries, I was full. It seems to be busy around the lunch hour, so I'd get there early if you don't want to wait for a table.

It is really good! We split a Ruben which was very good!! Red cabbage rather than sauerkraut!! Also, split the banana carmel bread pudding!! Was made with banana bread ,had excellent choc. chips throughout and topped with the best caramel sauce with whipped cream(the REAL stuff) and a dusting of pdr. sugar!! You've got to try it!!

I never see this place, what is adjacent?

It is actually on the side street. It is one block north of El Matador. I think it shares space with a clothing store, which is on Newport Blvd.
