Highlawn Pavilion

I am currently planning a wedding for fall 2010 at Highlawn and I wanted to hear people's thoughts on the space.
Has anyone been to a wedding there?

Thanks!

  1. I have not been there for a few years but I used to live in the area and have eaten in the restaurant several times. The view is spectacular and the setting is lovely. Frankly, this would be the perfect venue for a wedding for that reason alone. There is ample parking for guests and the walk into the restaurant, especially at night, is sure to be breathtaking, unless it rains, of course. The service is always courteous and attentive, but, and here comes the but, the food was never that memorable. I would ask for a tasting before I committed to any menu. This place is not cheap so make sure you get good food. I am sure they will do what they can to accommodate you.

      1. We had a wedding reception upstairs in the Summer of 2008.

Our experience was extremely positive in terms of food, service and atmosphere.

It was surprisingly much less expensive than expected.

Overall it was a great value!

Bosmer - were they good at accomodating your wedding requests? I just want to make sure the room looks perfect.

Primarily, we dealt with Paul K.

He was very accommodating to our requests.

How did the set up of your room work out? I am a little nervous about the irregular shape.

That was a small concern beforehand too. I thought people seated at the far ends would be unhappy that they could not really see the dance floor or the dj/band. When we, and our wedding party, entered the room people on the far ends got up and stood where they could see us. We only had around 75-80 people so we closed off parts of the far ends of the main dining area.

We timed the reception so that people entered the restaurant while it was till faily light outside. They came in and enjoyed the cocktail portion in the "dance" area and in the smaller seated area. We kept all of the curtains closed. By the time the cocktail portion finished it was dark outside and they opened the curtains to the beautiful view.
