Spiced Pear, Newport question

Hi - my wife and I will be eating at the Spiced Pear in Newport RI during restaurant week and noticed they indicate dress is business casual and that most men will feel best in a jacket. Has anyone been there and would you say the majority of men are actually in jackets? I can do that, but would like to know if most men only really have dress shirts and khaki's. Oh ya, and how's the food?

We go there about 1 or 2 times a year and I've never worn a jacket. Usually just kakhi's and a button down shirt. I would say about half of the gentlemen wear a jacket. I've never felt out of place without.

Food is excellent. We actually went for restaurant week last year and we're very pleased.

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to the visit. Gotta get out of Providence once in awhile for dinner and this is a good excuse.

I too have never warn a jacket there, just khakis and button down shirt...

The food is very good, service is exceptional and for men in the dining room, jacket is required...
