I am about to make a reservation at Nine-Ten for dinner. What are your favorite dishes there? How is the tasting menu (will it take 3+ hours to complete the experience)? TIA!!

I absolutely love Nine-Ten. It's one of my favorite places. They're tasting menu is usually pretty good. I always liked any risotto they did. The pork belly is great. I love the lamb. Their cheese plate is always good. I've never had a bad meal there. I live on the east coast now so I'm completely jealous. Have a great time!

Cheese plate and sashimi plates are solid. But I am sure both change often.

All in all, Nine-ten is a solid restaurant in a beautiful location.

Food isn't mindblowing, but very respectable for the cost.

I think the kitchen closes pretty early.

I have not been to nine-ten, but on Sunday we went to Celebrate the Craft and Jason Knibb was there. He cooked a grilled pork loin with a warm potato salad, and I must say it was a winner. With some of the other chefs floating around that day, Jason more than held his own.

How was the Craft this year? Wish I could have been there. Would love to hear your take. I saw a video of the event on San Diego News Network blog that spent a lot of time with Knibb and his dish: http://www.sdnn.com/sandiego/2009-11-02/restaurant-food-wine/celebrate-the-craft-a-favorite-culinary-event-for-chefs-food-lovers-alike
