I will be staying at the Hotel Murano for two nights next week and I am looking for dinner ideas. I am most interested in more high-end places where I can eat at the bar. Pacific Grill seems to be one good choice, but I would love to hear any other recommendations. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'll second weeklyvolcano's suggestions. The last 2 times we were in Tacoma, we really enjoyed our dinners at Twokoi.

PG and Twokoi are great suggestions. Don't forget about El Gaucho! PG and El Gaucho probably have the best happy hours in town.

Indochine is very popular Pan Asian and is within walking distance. A short drive away is Maxwell's Speakeasy--an excellent Chowhound destination. Avoid the restaurant at the hotel at all costs.

If you have a car (which you probably do, since nobody visits Tacoma without one), you could drive up to the 6th Avenue Business District for dinner at the bar at Asado, an Argentinian steak place. Good steaks, as well as chicken and fish plates, and the drinks and wine list are nice, too. I think Asado is one of the more predictably good places in town, as I've never had a bad time there.
