All of this is usually completed on/before the first of the month so people can order/reserve the COTM book at the book store/online/library. There's usually someone designated to make the shortlist, then count votes and put up the winning selection. In terms of deciding the restaurant of the month.... if it were me I'd model it like COTM... ie Edmonton November RROTM: Suggestions? and add a due date, take the feedback from those suggestions, leave the shortlist up for voting for a few days then post the results. I meant by strong point - is there somewhere new/chic/or interesting that we should definitely sample right away. And by theme - should we narrow down recommendations inside a specific cuisine/group - Italian, Latin, Canadian etc... I realize November might be a bit of mess to get a restaurant from any specific 'system' we might eventually use, but at least we can narrow it down for December and on.
