Joey at Don Mills
I read about this new restaurant. Has anyone been?
I've been to Joey's twice for lunch and was disapponted both times. The first time I had the lobster melted cheese sandwich that was salty and the small bits of lobster were tasteless. The accompanying fries were the worst I've had at any restaurants or fast food. They're thinly cut and devoid of any taste whatsoever. Good thing they came with a dip. $15 for this dish was not worth it.
The 2nd time I went I ordered the seafood linguini and it was spicy to the point that whether you're eating the shrimps or scallops or whatever else, all you taste was the spices. At $16, it's priced like many pasta restaurants in town (like Grazie) but quality is below their standards.
Staff are all friendly, young and attractive, a place that's form over substance. I'm sure evening cocktails in their lounge area with a group of friends would be nice but, overall, go only for drinks and eat somewhere else.
