HELP! Need to give thanks in Brooklyn!

jhmer Nov 1, 2009 12:27 PM

Me and my folks are going to be in Brooklyn for Thanksgiving and are looking for a traditional feast. Doesn't have to be fancy but it could be. We're from Austin and don't know a whole lot about the area. Would appreciate any direction from NYC foodies. Thanks in advance for your help!

Yours in food,

I think they also do a Thanksgiving dinner at Union Smith Cafe on Union and Smith streets in Carroll Gardens.

I live in Brooklyn but I had an amazing Thanksgiving with the folks at Old Homestead right over the bridge in Manhattan. Very classic turkey dinner in an old NY setting. The family still talks about it.

Park Slope area, but we're willing to travel outside of the neighborhood.

Stone Park Cafe (on 5th in Park Slope) and Chestnut (in Carroll Gardens) usually do Thanksgiving - both are very good New American restaurants.
