I had a business trip to London in July and received great advice from this board (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/618238) which made me look like a champ with those I traveled with. Now I am returning with a different manager who doesn't eat meat, likes fish especially in Italian restaurants. We stay on Gracechurch Street and the office is across from Spitalfield Market. Any suggestions? TIA.

For Italian - high end would be Theo Randall at the Intercontinental or Locanda Locatelli. Both simply but beautifully cooked fare. For Italian, with some seafood available, try Bocca di Lupo in Soho - Italian tapas, really, really good. Or for seafood pure and simple, J Sheekey just near Trafalgar Square. British institution, gorgeous.

Keeping it local, one choice would be Francesco Mazzei's L'anima, just behind the Broadgate development. Up-market and plenty of reviews online. You might also check out Eyre Brothers a bit further towards Old Street.

Thanks for the replies. Since we work long hours local places are best. We will walk or take the tube but not too far. Eyre Brothers looks good as does L'Anima, though L'Anima would have to pass the manager on price.
