The above is a link to Calgary's best kept bread secret!
Aviv is baking the most wonderful treats and was selling at some markets this summer,
Now he is selling to some great vendors and and the NEW Dalhousie indoor market too.

best $6 you will ever spend is on a brown paper bag of fresh baked artist loaf from Peasant!

Last night I made a creamy roast pumpkin and curry sweet potato soup served with fresh pumpkin seed whole wheat loaf! mmm it was heaven.

Also, he is fund-raising for a school library in the Nsanje District of Malawi with his bread sales so not only are you getting super yummy local organic bread, but your money is going to very worthy causes! and you can sign up to his email noticed and he will deliver bread by bicycle to you each week if you are downtown or surrounding area.

It doesn't get much more foodie : local : ethical + green than this!

CookieGal, do you happen to have any more info about the Dalhousie market? Website or anything? I search but couldn't find anything and am really interested.

According to Aviv's website, it's held Thursdays at the Dalhousie Community Association. No mention of time so I'd suggest emailing Aviv or the Community Association:

      5432 Dalhart Rd. N.W.

Love Aviv's bread (finished the loaf before we got it home ... in my defense it was rush hour) and his pies are outstanding:

I'm going to have to check this guy out.

The Dalhousie Indoor Market, I found out, is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Thursdays, at the Dalhousie Community Centre: 5432 Dalhart Rd. N.W.
