ISO Best Grilled Veggie Sandwich in Downtown Core

jennjen18 Oct 30, 2009 08:03 PM

I'm looking for a pub environment, but if there's a sandwich stop (ie. fast food) type thing, that would be good too.

Also looking for west of Yonge area... but if you know of places that you utterly believe in, let me know too.

The last BEST GVS we've had was, if you could believe it, in Oshawa, at the Thirsty Monk.

Thanks so much!

Sage Cafe @ McCaul & Baldwin sells a good grilled vegetable wrap.

They also have an avocado tomato feta wrap that is quite nice. Good sandwiches but just be mindful that there are often long line ups. The lines move fast though.

166 McCaul Street, north of Dundas.

Are you looking for a grilled vegetarian sandwich or a sandwich with grilled veggies? If the former, then Negroni has several vegetarian panini:

The Black Camel (Yonge at Crescent Rd - Rosedale Subway) does a great roasted veggie sandwich.

Not in your vicinity and not a pub, but I recently had the vegetarian sandwich at Loic on Queen East, just east of Broadview. It was delicious. It had grilled veg, apples, pine nuts, brie all on a perfect baquette. It was really good.

I really like the veggie grilled sandwich from Le Gourmand with the spicy sauce. It's on a tasty baguette and grilled like a panini.

Not sure how much this helps, but any Loblaws that has all the prepared foods at the front, and I think most of them have been renovated by now, has a section of premade sandwiches. The grilled veggie sandwich is actually really great. Lots of veg, a thick slice of mozzarella, and a great olive spread. I think I'll have one tomorrow.

I like the grilled veggie wrap at the Rebel House. It's wrapped in a tortilla with smoked pepper hummus. And especially yummy if you get the kettle fries with it!
