French comfort food, blanquette de veau

Arriving in Paris in mid-Dec, after 2 weeks in Egypt -- exhausted and ravenous. Will need French comfort food, especially blanquette de veau. La Fontaine de Mars supposedly serves this dish on Thursdays only. Can anyone suggest other restaurants? We already have places like Josephine chez Dumonet, Au Bon Accueil, and Christophe on our list. Many thanks.

  1. I have not been for about a year but if you dont mind the cat in the cupboard Au Petit Tonneau on rue Surcouf (7th) is a very casual little spot with a great small wine list. Ms Ginny owner /chef always does wonderful things with eggs, mushrooms and esp blanquette de veau.. I always ordered it and it seemed to be constantly on the menu

D'Chez Eux always has the dish on the menu in the winter months; however I prefer their other comfort food like confit de canard etc. Now under new management, the menu hasn't changed much, tho a bit more pricey.

    2. My wife and I stayed at the Park Hyatt Vendome and the conceirge recommended this D'Chez Eux for French Country Food......I am from the US and we have our fine dining French restaurants in every major US city. But it is hard to find French country food (comfort food). The cassoulet was fabulous! Large portions of food in this cassoulet. It has white beans duck, pork, and sausage in a crock pot. The rillette was also good. I highly recommend it!

Thanks everyone! I've heard of Aux Petit Tonneau but never tried it. They're supposed to have a good tarte tatin -- also on our list of French comfort food. D'Chez Eux sounds interesting. I just had a look at the website for L'Ambassade d'Auvergne; we were planning to go there for aligot and other specialties of Auvergne. They too have blanquette de veau on the menu.
