Spicy Mina the other day

I hadn't been to Spicy Mina in a year or so, and wasn't sure how it would hold up. Well I am pleased to report that it is better than ever, seriously. I took my friend who hadn't been before and we were both blown away. One slight change: the Aam Dal Mina Special was less soupy, and the lentils were the biggest I've ever seen. The mango or whatever it was tasted more pickled than usual, with skin on. Amazing. We also had the Fuska appetizer, and Navratna Curry and Shak Ponir, all of which were excellent. I can't speak to any meat dishes this time. Little green peppers in everything made it spicier than usual, which made me very happy!

We were almost the only people in there. Granted it was late on a rainy Wednesday.

I have whined and complained about all the meals I have had there which were not so great or worse. There were many. However, several meals I had there were beyond outstanding. Up there with the best I have ever had. This is what drives me nuts. How can it be so good and then so bad. Your post has inspired me to try again, maybe over the weekend. You got me with the big lentils and little green peppers.

I was there a few weeks back, and have had two or three very lackluster meals elsewhere (Indian really, not Bangladeshi) since then . That last meal at Spicy Mina was quite wonderful! I'm ready for a return visit now myself.
