Looking for cassoulet

Can anyone recommend a bistro-style French restaurant in DC?

  1. Bistro Lepic on Wisconsin in upper Georgetown usually has it on the menu.

    1. Central, Bistrot du Coin, Bistrot Lepic, Bistro d'Oc and La Chaumiere all serve cassoulet. La Chaumiere only on Thursdays.

I've had cassoulet at Bistrot Lepic and La Chaumiere, and both are very good. La Chaumiere's is a bit more substantial and heartier.

I'm pretty sure La Chaumiere has closed. I've also had a good version at La Fourchette but not for a couple years.

La Chaumiere is definitely open. In fact, I just called to confirm a reservation for later this week. Business as usual.

Maybe you're thinking of another French restaurant? For example, La Miche (in Bethesda) closed some months ago.

My bad. Did it close temporarily recently? I remember it being shut down for a while... but I could be memory-challenged.

      2. I've seen it at Bistro du Coin in Dupont.

Central also might have a version on their menu.

        1. Second the Bistro d'Oc rec for an authentic menu

          1. I'll third Bistro D'Oc. Enjoyed the cassoulet there more than once.
