Tacocina Restaurant in Wappingers Falls recently opened as a full service restaurant. My experience with Mexican street food is extremely limited but I have always wanted to try authentic Mexican tacos like the ones featured on Anthony Bourdain’s show No Reservations. Living in the Hudson Valley those types of tacos have been very hard to come by, until now. Tacocina in Wappingers Falls serves the real deal Mexican that until now I’ve only experienced through television.

Here's my full article on Tacocina. I'm interested in hear others experience at Tacocina. Any suggestions on other things to order?

I went back to Tacocina today to try some more more tacos. This time I tired the Beef Tongue, Salty Beef and Chorizo. All three we fantastic. Of the three I'd say the salty beef was my favorite. It seemed to work the best with the fresh lime and hot sauce combo. The beef tongue was tender and packed with flavor. You can't go wrong with Chorizo. My entire lunch was less then 10 bucks and I was stuffed.

I had the good fortune of being early for an appointment last night and wandered into Tacocina. The Host was awesome. I was seated and served the most delish fresh chips and salsa. SInce I was pressed for time, I order 2 beef tacos. The were served on two soft corn tortillas. The beef was sprinkled with cilantro and onions and served with lime wedges. I fell in love. I will be returning this weekend with time to sample their delicious and authentic menu.

I'm glad you had a chance to try it out. I went again last night. The tortilla soup is another great dish of theirs. You can just tell when certain places offer something special.

I'm a big fan of Tacocina's chicken tacos. They are reminiscent of the tacos I had when I went to Mexico. Delicious tortillas, perfectly grilled chicken, and cilantro with a slice of radish. Their horchata is also very good.
