We gave up after several middling experiences. Strangely enough, some of the best PR we've had over the years has been at various Hyatt Resorts while on vacation. Go figure.

I love 5 Crowns. Its kinda for old people though. But you will see young people as well.

I ALWAYS order the Prime Rib because its the same Prime Rib they serve at Lawry's as they are owned by Lawry's.

Good Wine list. I had a 2001 Quintessa last time I was there (Cab)

The English Trufle Desert is also very very good.

If you sit in the bar, the fresh fried potato chips are awesome

It used to be one of *the* places in OC for Prom Night or Christman Formal night 30 years ago. We were there with a group of 70-somethings in November. They had a good time with the novelty of the place but the food was pretty grim. We made a bee-line back to the SFV and an In-n-Out.

I have just been there in the past year with large groups and "Private Parties" special lunch menu (with a few editions). Didn't have their prime rib. But everything was very well prepared, traditional recipe, tasty fare. I had their Breast of Chicken Waldorf with rice, Scallop and Shrimp Brochette, salad, asparagus, fresh vegetables, bread pudding, cheesecake. Pretty standard fare, but very very good. Service was excellent and still elegant out on the back patio.

I think they do a better job at group dinners than many of the hotels.

And, I can't imagine that Lawry's beef product is declining. Why would it? What's the news there?

Last prime rib I had was at a hotel in Las Vegas in January. Cut it with a fork, and loved the few heavy ribbings of fat in each slice. Maybe I need some direction on what a good prime rib is?

Is Gulliver's a good place to have it?

I just feel sorry for the waitresses is those God-awful flouncy uniforms with their tops about to fall out (some more attractively than others...) & those dumb muffet head-thingees they wear. It truly is embarrassing.
