A couple of problems that I've experienced intermittently over the years that seem to have become worse in the last few days:

When I click "reply" instead of a reply window, I get bounced to the top of the thread. Refreshing the thread helps sometimes, but not always.

When I click on the poster's name to open a compressed post, I get taken to the poster's profile instead; when I click on "expand all" I get bounced to the top of the thread.

Just now, I could neither edit nor reply to this post -- clicking either bounced me to the top of the thread. Refreshing did not work, I had to close down and relaunch my browser (IE).

Well, usually clicking the poster's name does it. I just did a little experiment with a thread. Clicking on the name worked for all posts. Clicking in the white area to the right of the name worked on *some* posts: none of the first level replies would open that way.

Oh, and I just got another weird one. I've been noticing that sometimes when I put the cursor on "My Chow" I don't get the drop-down menu. This time, when I put my cursor on "My Chow" I noticed that the drop down menu did appear: in the upper left corner covering part of the "C" in "Chowhound" and part of the banner ad. It disappeared and reappeared as I moved my cursor off and on the "My Chow" tab.

Re the menu problem, are you by chance using IE? That glitch for that browser popped up a month or so ago. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/657565

Yup. I use IE at work; Firefox at home. No one in that thread mentioned getting the weird displaced menu, though. I mean, I wasn't happy about not getting the drop-down menu, but since I could still get to my profile by clicking on My Chow it wasn't a big issue. But having the drop-down menu appear in a completely different area of the screen was just bizarre!

Did it again. This time both the pull down menu for the chowhound boards and the displaced pulldown menu for the My Chow tab were partially under the left-hand side of the banner ad (the ubiquitous tomato ad).
