Foodie for sure Oct 28, 2009 07:35 PM

Port St. Lucie

Going for the week to play golf and have fabulous food...good food at reasonable prices...or great food that is worth the price..

Any ideas?

Glad I could recommend it....even if I called it 12 Maple Street!.....LOL!!.....There are other good restaurants in the area...but they can be inconsistent....and that's due to the transient nature of the area which leads to inconsistencies in serving staffs and thus....spotty service which can make or break a dining experience.....11/12 Maple Street is always very consistent where the service is concerned and that goes right along with the outstanding cuisine they're churning out there........

For a good steak....Peter's Steakhouse....which is right next door is very good.....they're chopped salad is off the charts....and worth the trip.....

its right off of US 1 off of Indian River Drive and Seaway blvd, its before you go over the bridge though across from Captain's Galley. It looks like a bait shop on the outside but its really good inside :D

That's right where I thunk it was! We'll try that place! We love Capt.'s Galley too - great breakfasts! But yea, we'll venture over that way. We also found a fun spot over the bridge and past the Yacht club....the name escapes me...but it's one of the little Mom-n-Pop motels on the left side....They've build a new outside bar and their food is pretty darned decent.....They have an all you can eat BBQ....and they have a kitchen that's turning out some very good food.....Go by on a Sunday afternoon and you'll find the place....They have live music too....It's right on the inlet......Parking is tough....but they have free valet and it's worth it......

When it comes to Port St. Lucie and food....it's more like Port St. Lousy.....But there are places....Tin Fish is a new restaurant that serves absolutely fresh fish in a variety of ways....casual...tasty....From there...a short trip down to Jensen Beach....12 Maple Street....upscale / very good.....Peter's Steakhouse....a casual knock off of Peter Lugers in NYC and CrawDaddys (casual cajun) are all very solid......This isn't a bastion of fine restaurants but these are all reliably good......12 Maple Street is the best of the bunch.....

WPB is 45 minutes south......Sorry but don't eat there much.....You might have to do some homework here....look in the archives....I'm sure there are many solid recommendations there for West Palm......

the name is 11 Maple Street and it is in Jensen Beach. Try Courtine's in Stuart just a bit farther than Jensen. Very good upper middle food. Also try Riverwalk in Stuart
