For "fabulous real food," you definitely need to get OUT of the National Harbor area. Like Doh said, Restaurant Eve across the river in Old Town Alexandria is definitely a great choice!

If the ferry across to Alexandria is running, Restaurant Eve might be a good option.

Even if the Ferry isn't running (Especially Late-Night like you requested) a cab ride across the river is quick and cheap.....
