Can anyone share experiences at this restaurant?

    Andre's has been in Newton for a number of years. Alway excellent, always consistent. Very much worth a trip. Also in the area you might want to try these two exceptional places. Mattar's Bistro, Allamuchy, NJ and Hotel Fauchere, Milford, PA.

      Andre's is an excellent restaurant. Also, nearby, in Delaware Water Gap Pa, is Antelao, a gem of a place that has superior food, service and ambience. It flies under the radar, but the locals all know about it, so reservations are a must.

        I've been there twice and was underwhelmed with the food and the service. It may be good for the area, but that's not saying much. Someone recommended Mattar's below - that place is great if you are over 80 years old. Best bet in the area is Latour.

          Well, that's certainly a whole different experience than I had. I've been to Antelao a half-dozen times and each time was magnificent, a 10+ in every category.

          The place is small, each dish is prepared individually, so it may not come as fast as in a chain resto, but nice dining for me should have the courses spread out. And the local ingredients were always fresh and wonderful. Antelao is a gem!
